Mary captured these two critters on a walk in Detroit's Metrobeach. How do I know they are yearlings? Well, look at those ears. Young deer often have a puppy-dog look until they get experience with life.
This picture is great because of one thing...the extreme talent and patience of the photographer! The deer are BOTH caught sillouetted against a lighter background, and we can actually SEE them! As usual, Mary comes through!
that's good: I learned here about the ears. When the deer here come by they are usually in herds so it's easy to compare and see who the young ones are and the older ones. they never come by one by one, but even two together can be tough to identify their age. so thank you.
The answer to the Happy Easter question is yes, Mary... I spent the time with Bert and Bea Furman, musician friends of mine, and we ate well and shared music together!
These are memories.. collected from near and far.. of things and places and people that I love. It is a very personal place for me to recall these things, but also a place I send people who want to know me a little better. This is because we are all constructed from what we know.. what welove.. and where we have been. That is who we are..
